MATERIAL COMPARISON

Two popular automotive bushing materials are bronze and nylon. Compared to bronze, Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube have excellent wear resistance, particularly in dirty and wet conditions, resulting in up to 10 times longer wear life than bronze. 

Even with no lubrication, Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube have a lower coefficient of friction than lubircated bronze. 

Compared to nylon, Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube take higher loadings and do not swell or soften when exposed to water or humidity. These features ensure that Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube do not lose compressive strength and do not creep. 

The introduction of Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube results in much less wear to expensive shafts.

To compare the performance of Vesconite and OEM bronze bushings, hangar and spring eye bushings in Vesconite and bronze were fitted to an RE 29 Leyland petrol tanker used in the Northern Cape, South Africa.
