A recent design enhancement utilising Vesconite bushings has significantly improved the manufacturing efficiency and durability of self-cleaning spray nozzles, eliminating the need for manual bushing modifications while extending operational lifespan and reducing maintenance downtime.
Previously, the manufacturer relied on 3D-printed bushings that required splitting by hand before installation. This additional step increased labour hours and slowed the production process. A design modification was proposed for the spray nozzle housing to address this inefficiency, enabling a press-fit installation for the Vesconite bushing.
The application focuses on the piston rod guide bushing within the spray nozzles, where precise alignment and smooth operation are critical. Unlike 3D-printed bushings, Vesconite’s self-lubricating, low-friction properties reduce wear, ensuring a longer lifespan and minimising maintenance-related downtime. The new design ensures that the bushings can be installed seamlessly without splitting, streamlining the assembly process and enhancing long-term reliability.
Key benefits of the improved Vesconite bushing design:
- Reduced assembly time: Eliminates the need for manual splitting, simplifying installation.
- Improved manufacturing efficiency: Lowers labour costs and increases production speed.
- Extended operational lifespan: Vesconite Bearings’ low-friction material reduces wear compared to 3D-printed bushings.
- Minimised maintenance downtime: Enhanced durability ensures longer service intervals.
- Optimised functionality: Provides smooth piston rod guidance for reliable nozzle operation.
This redesign highlights Vesconite Bearings’ ongoing commitment to innovation, offering solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency and product longevity while reducing maintenance costs.
