VesArg, the official distributor of Vesconite Bearings in Argentina, is intensifying its marketing of Vesconite oscillating axle pivot bushings following two decades of successful use as replacement components for axles manufactured by a leading Italian supplier.
The company has supplied replacement Vesconite bushings to end users for approximately 20 years, with particularly strong demand from Argentina’s rice-growing sector, where tractors operate in permanently wet, muddy conditions that accelerate wear of conventional metal bushings.
The oscillating axles are supplied as original equipment to numerous manufacturers of tractors, harvesters, and other agricultural, construction and materials-handling equipment, creating a substantial global aftermarket for replacement pivot bushings.
“We are becoming much more aggressive this year in promoting this application because it has been such a successful product for us,” says Leandro Panzini of VesArg.
“These are the oscillating axles that we find in tractors and many other types of equipment, including harvesters. It is a problem that we know we can solve with Vesconite.”
Panzini says some of the toughest operating conditions are found in Argentina’s rice industry, where machinery works continuously in waterlogged fields.
“We have been supplying this application for the last 20 years, especially to tractors working in the rice industry. Rice farming is one of the harshest environments because there is so much water and the ground conditions are extremely demanding.”
According to Panzini, the same axle designs are also widely used in harvesters and earth-moving equipment, allowing the proven solution to be applied across several industries.
“We have excellent experience not only in tractors but also in harvesters and earth-moving equipment and forklifts because they use the same oscillating axle designs.”
The international nature of these axle assemblies further strengthens the opportunity.
“This is an international part. You can buy the same part number in the United States as you can in Argentina because these axles are used around the world.”
VesArg is also benefiting from additional stock sizes introduced by Vesconite Bearings, enabling the company to manufacture replacement bushings more economically.
“There are new stock sizes that allow us to produce the finished bushings at a lower cost,” explains Panzini. “Previously, we were machining from larger diameter material. The newer sizes reduce material waste significantly, making the finished component more competitive.”
Besides supplying the replacement market, Panzini believes there is also potential to work directly with manufacturers that use these axle assemblies in their equipment.
“There are many OEMs that use these oscillating axles. We believe there is an opportunity to supply these applications more broadly.”
He notes that many replacement bushings currently available in Argentina are made of bronze or other metals.
“In the most demanding operating conditions, traditional metal bushes are often unable to deliver the service life customers expect. Our experience has shown that Vesconite provides a reliable alternative in these difficult applications.”
Oscillating axle pivot bushings are critical components that allow front axles to pivot while supporting heavy loads and absorbing shock. In agricultural and construction equipment, they are continually exposed to mud, water, abrasive contaminants and high loading, making material selection an important factor in service life.
Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube are engineered bearing materials developed for demanding industrial and mobile equipment applications. Their low friction, high wear resistance, dimensional stability in water and ability to operate with little or no lubrication make them well suited to oscillating axle pivot applications operating in harsh environments.
As VesArg expands its marketing activities, the company expects growing awareness among equipment owners, fleet operators and repair workshops of the long-term performance benefits achieved in some of Argentina’s most demanding agricultural applications.
