When Vesconite Bearings visited Marksbury Farm, a Kentucky-based meat producer and processor, in mid-August 2025, it confirmed that Vesconite saw guides were still operating reliably on the farm’s buster saws after five months of continuous use.
The guides were installed in March 2025, following the success of a one-month trial that began in September 2024. The trial was conducted over a fixed period to evaluate the guides under demanding processing conditions, and the duration was not intended to indicate failure.
Even within this set timeframe, the Vesconite guides outperformed traditional alternatives. The Vesconite buster saw guides replaced the farm’s traditional phenolic guides, which had previously lasted only a week before requiring replacement, with frequent downtime and high maintenance costs remaining persistent challenges under these operating conditions.
During the trial, the Vesconite guides already demonstrated a fourfold improvement in lifespan, lasting an entire month. This resulted in fewer replacements, lower maintenance costs, and smoother operational performance.
Following the trial, Marksbury Farm ordered 12 new guides, installed in March 2025. Since installation, the guides have continued to exceed expectations, remaining in service far beyond the original testing duration and providing consistently reliable performance.
Vesconite Bearings’ advanced wear-material formulation offers superior wear resistance, self-lubrication, and excellent dimensional stability, making it an ideal solution for high-friction, high-moisture environments such as abattoirs and meat processing plants.
