Vesconite is suited to applications that are wet, humid or immersed. Vesconite does not swell or soften in water and water is a good lubricant for Vesconite. Vesconite keeps its size and maintains its compression strength.
No swell
Many synthetic materials swell when immersed in water.
Nylon can swell up to 3%. This can cause seizure of shafts.
No softening
Nylon can lose up to 60% of its strength when immersed in
water. Vesconite remains hard
Bronze
Bronze
bushes do not last in wet conditions because of galling that takes
place. Bronze cannot be lubricated easily with grease or oil, and
often this requires expensive seals.
Vesconite is lubricated with water and does not require grease.
