No Delamination
Vesconite problem solving index Vesconite is a homogenous bearing material without any lamination reinforcement that can delaminate. Delamination is a problem for many laminated and composite products, for example laminated phenolics, laminated polyesters and thermosets. What is delamination? Delamination occurs when water penetrates the exposed micro-channels of the textile or glass reinforcement that are formed between the layers that make up the laminate. The differential swelling along these surfaces cause weaknesses between the layers. Delamination is a problem for: Marine rudder and stern tube bearings Pump bearings Underwater or immersed bearings Updated Mar 06 2008 |
