Framesaw Slippers (Hitemp 150)
The Linck Framesaw is not water cooled and
requires an expensive high grade lubricant.
To reduce the lubricant consumption the brass slippers were replaced with Hitemp 150 (plate 240 mm x 90 mm x 15 mm)(9.4" x 3.5" - 0.6"), a specially formulated high temperature resistant grade which can withstand temperatures up to 160oC (320oF). After fitting the slippers, the oil feed rate was reduced by 50%.
The change to Hitemp 150 resulted in the following improvements:
- Lubricant consumption reduced by more than half, a major cost saving due to the expensive nature of the special grade of lubricant required.
