Hilube roller successfully replaces a steel roller giving a railway roller
assembly with lower friction and lower maintenance. The steel roller had to be hardened and tempered, as per a heat treatment specification, to ensure maximum toughness without cracking. |

After severe testing throughout South Africa under various temperature conditions, Vesconite Hilube proved to have lower friction, no rust build up on the roller, longer life and less maintenance.
The size of the roller is 50 x 30 x 30 mm (2 x 1.2 x 1.2 "). An additional size 60 x 30 x 30 mm (2.4 x 1.2 x 1.2") has also been accepted.
The use of Vesconite Hilube has resulted in a considerable saving in maintenance due to the long life obtained.
