Jaw Crusher
Hadfield jaw crushers are used in certain mines to
break oversize rocks before going into the mill.
Previously phosphor bronze was used for the two 200 mm (8") outside diameter x 170 mm (6.7") inside diameter bushes, each of which was 270 mm (10.6") long.
Due to a lack of regular lubrication, the bronze
bushes tended to wear out quickly. The bronze bushes were replaced with
Vesconite. After 12 months of operation the crusher was overhauled and the
Vesconite bushes showed very little wear.
Vesconite survives the irregular lubrication and the dirt and dust which characterise crusher operation, giving longer wear life and reducing costs.
