Jetto Skip Body Hinge Bushes
The Jetto skip hangs from its bridle by means of
a metallistic body hinge bush. This arrangement allows for a hinging action and
is subject to intermittent impact.
Traditionally a flanged phosphor bronze bush (OD 100 mm x ID 75 mm - 128 mm long)(OD 4" x ID 3" - 5" long) was used. Because this is a dry application the bronze bushes seized a number of times. Indeed, on one occasion, the shaft broke as a result.
To overcome the problem, Vesconite bushes inside a steel housing, which in turn is located within a rubber bush to withstand the impact, were installed.
