Dolly Wheel Bushes
Slow moving dolly wheels are in use for many
applications on mines. Conventional bushing materials do not give a long wear
life under dirty conditions with little or no lubrication.
The phosphor bronze bushes on the dolly wheels (OD 60 mm x ID 50 mm - 40 mm long and OD 61 mm x ID 48 mm - 65 mm long) (OD 2.4" x ID 2" - 1.5" long and OD 2.4" x ID 1.9" - 2.5" long) did not last and were replaced with Vesconite.
Vesconite, unaffected by dirty conditions and little or no lubrication gives much longer life than the phosphor bronze.
