Vesconite was chosen for this ship after the original white metal bearing had worn out.
Located in Panama at the time of docking, the bearings had to be shipped out immediately from South Africa and The Netherlands.
The yard had no problems machining and installing the Vesconite bearings and all went very smoothly. The shipyard commented on the ease of machining the bush, with little wear on cutting tools and little dust.
