After a routine check of the rudder bearings while docked in Curacao, premature wear was discovered.
Vesconite was supplied the same day!! A 1000 mm length of bushing was driven to Schiphol airport from where it was transported by plane to Curacao only minutes after arrival. The next day the bush was machined at the ship yard to the sizes required, and fitted only 25 hours after the order!
The quick delivery ensured that no further delay was caused and the vessel could sail according to schedule.
