Vesconite bushes have successfully replaced phosphor bronze bushes in this
greased application.
Advantages of Vesconite Bushes
- Longer life
- Lower shaft wear
- Lower cost - two thirds of the original costs of the OEM parts
- Easy to machine to required size where shaft or housing have been worn. This saves rebuilding the shafts or repairing the housing.
The
5th wheel on the 66 ton Oshkosh truck uses four Vesconite bushes. It is a
greased application. Phosphor bronze was used previously.
