Extinguishing media:
|
All generally used extinguishing media
may be used: water; dry chemical; foam; carbon dioxide or sand |
|
Extinguishing media which must not
be used for safety reasons:
|
Not known according to previous
experience. |
|
Special procedures:
|
Evacuate all non emergency personnel to a
safe area. Fire fighters should use self contained breathing apparatus.
Avoid breathing smoke, fumes and decomposition products. Use water spray
to quench smouldering materials. Burning produces intense heat, toxic
gases and dense smoke. |

Reactivity
Data |
|
Stability:
|
Stable, no known conditions to avoid. If
stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices, no
hazardous reactions are known. |
|
Incompatibility: |
Not Applicable |
|
Hazardous decomposition products:
|
Decomposition begins above 250oC,
but at this temperature fumes are innocuous. Above 300oC more
complex breakdown occurs and the resulting fumes are irritants. Carbon
monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and low molecular weight
compounds under certain conditions. |

|
General information:
|
According to present experience, the
material is physiologically compatible and is neither mutagenic,
carcinogenic or teratogenic. |
|
Accute toxicity: |
No data known |
| |
|
Preventive
Measures |
|
Respiratory protection:
|
No special precautions necessary. When
grinding use a dust mask, as material will produce a nuisance dust if no
coolant or extraction equipment is used |
|
Ventilation: |
As required to avoid nuisance dust |
|

|
First Aid
Measures |
|
Swallowing: |
No special measures necessary. Give water
to drink. |
|
Skin:
|
It is good personal hygiene practice to
wash hands after handling. |
|
Inhalation: |
No special precautions are necessary.
Avoid inhalation of dust and decomposition products by use of adequate
ventilation. If coughing or other respiratory symptoms occur, the person
should seek fresh air and if they persist, see a physician. |
|
Eyes:
|
Flush or remove dust particles as with
any other non hazardous substances. Continue to rinse for at least 15
minutes and obtain medical attention in case of continuous irritation. |

First Aid Measures |
|
Ingestion: |
Non
hazardous by ingestion. No special measures necessary. Give water to drink. |
| Skin: |
It is good personal hygiene practice to wash hands after

No
special precautions are necessary. Avoid inhalation of dust by use of
adequate ventilation. If coughing or other respiratory symptoms occur, the
person should seek fresh air and if they persist, see a physician. |
|
Inhalation of fumes: |
Thermal decomposition at temperatures >380°C yields a range of toxic
products, depending on the conditions of combustion. Exposure to these
combustion products must be avoided. Remove from exposure to fresh air, rest
and keep warm. Medical attention recommended. Symptomatic treatment
indicated. |
|
Eyes: |
Flush or remove dust particles as with any other non hazardous substances.
Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and obtain medical attention in
